Named one of the greatest string quartets of the last 100 years by BBC Music Magazine, the Dover Quartet returns to the Chamber Series. The Quartet’s honors include the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, Chamber Music America’s Cleveland Quartet Award, and Lincoln Center’s Hunt Family Award. The program includes a new work by Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate, Abokkoli’ Taloowa’ (Woodland Songs), commissioned in part by Friends of Chamber Music.
“Tate’s connection to nature and the human experience was quite apparent in this piece. Rarer still is his ability to effectively infuse classical music with American Indian nationalism.” – The Washington Post
